Gomu Gomu Cars Terms & Conditions
1. Age Requirements
Renters/ Drivers must be at least 18 years old. For ages 18 to 23 an extra fee of 8 euro per day will be applied. For ages 70 plus an extra fee of 10 euro per day will be applied. For ages between 24 and 69 there is no extra fee.
2. Driving License
National driving licenses from EU, UK, US, Canada, Australia, Gibraltar are accepted. For guests from other non-EU countries International Driving Permit (IDP) is mandatory. For countries that have signed the Vienna Convention an IDP is not mandatory. Please note that driver’s licences in digital form cannot be accepted, a valid physical copy must be present.
3. Minimum Rental Period / Booking Length
The minimum rental period is 1 day. For booking period extension, the renter must contact Gomu Gomu Cars to renew the contract and to be informed for the extra charges that will apply. If the vehicle is returned later from the agreed time extra charges will be applied.
4. Traffic & Parking Fines
The renter is liable for the payment of all traffic fines and appended administrative sanctions that may result from any violation of the Greek Traffic Law during the rental period.
5. Deposit
No Deposit is Required to Secure a Booking.
6. Third Party Insurance
The coverage of all Gomu Gomu Cars vehicles regarding damages against third parties is included in all contract prices as it is mandatory by Greek Law.
7. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) Policy
Gomu Gomu Cars Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is included in the rental price with a certain excess amount. This amount will not be blocked on a credit card. The drivers must return the vehicle in the same condition they received it. If the car needs extensive cleaning, the amount of 30 euros will be charged. Insurance does not cover damages regarding underside, tyres, wheels, roof, interior & glass parts (including windscreen) unless they were caused by a third party in an accident. All damages caused due to driving off-road are not covered, the renter holds full responsibility and will have to bear any towing charges. Fire and theft insurance are included in the price with an excess of €600, €900, €1.500, €2.000, euro depending on the car type.
8. Premium Collision Damage Waiver (PCDW) Policy
Gomu Gomu Cars Premium Collision Damage Waiver (PCDW) insurance offers 200 euro excess, covering bodywork and glass parts. Damage to the interior, underside, tyres, loss or damage of antennae, key, wheel covers is subject to being charged.
9. Insurance Exemptions (PLEASE READ)
If you have not been added to the rental agreement as an additional driver. If driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If driving against traffic regulations. If driving off-road. If the car is carrying more passengers than the number it is licensed for. Please note infants count as passengers. If keys are stolen or lost. Theft due to keys being left in the vehicle (negligence). Theft of personal belongings. Interior damages.
10. Accident or Damages
In case of a road accident or damages, the renter must inform Gomu Gomu Cars immediately.
11. Taxes
Our rates are final and include VAT and taxes.
12. Fuel & Mileage
The renter has to return the vehicle with the same level of fuel as delivered. Fuel used during the renting period is covered by the renter. If the car is returned with less fuel than upon delivery, the renter will be charged the difference. If the car is returned with more fuel than delivered, NO refund is given. Unlimited mileage on the island is included. Taking the car beyond the boundaries of Corfu Island is prohibited and may result in legal repercussions.
13. Extra Equipment
Baby seats and booster seats cost 3 and 4 euros per day respectively.
14. Delivery & Collection
We provide free pick-up and drop-off at Corfu Airport and Corfu Port. For specific locations, there are additional charges: 17 euros for North Corfu and 5 euros for Corfu Town, South Corfu and Lefkimmi Port. Our standard working hours are from 08:00 to 22:00. Any pick-up or drop-off outside these hours will incur an extra charge of 10 euros. This fee is applicable both ways and helps cover the costs associated with services beyond our regular hours.
15. Availability
Cars are delivered according to the booked car category and NOT according to the car model booked. We try to assign to each reservation the chosen car model, but in case of no availability of the chosen model, our company reserves the right to offer to the customer any other model of the same category.
16. Method of Payment
Payment for your car rental is due upon arrival, we offer the flexibility to settle the payment either by card or cash.
17. Our Vehicles
All cars are fully checked and serviced. All cars are cleaned and disinfected. Free 24-hour road assistance. Free 24-hour emergency / helpline. In case of breakdown, the company is obliged to replace the vehicle within 24hrs.
18. Cancellation Policy
Free cancelation 24 hours prior to arrival. For cancellations within 24 hours, no refund will be given. We reserve the right to cancel a booking one hour after the original arrival time if we have not been notified of any delay.
19. Restrictions (PLEASE READ)
Taking the car beyond the boundaries of Corfu Island is prohibited and may result in legal repercussions. If the car is taken anywhere other than Corfu Island, the vehicle is not covered by insurance or road assistance. Pets are not allowed in the car. Smoking is not allowed in the car. Driving whilst wearing wet swimwear is not allowed. Please make sure that your luggage will fit in the car you have chosen.
20. The cars are being delivered clean so they will need to be returned in the same condition, if excessive cleaning is needed a charge of 60€ plus VAT will be applied.
21. In the event of an incident / accident claim, an administration fee of 30€ will be applied.
22. Changes to terms and conditions
We reserve the right to change / update our terms and conditions without notice.
